The amount of leakage when the workpiece is sucked

Depending on the type of the workpiece, some of the workpiece sucked into the atmosphere will be sucked into the atmosphere, so that the vacuum inside the suction cup cannot be reached. When absorbing such a workpiece, the size of the vacuum generator and the vacuum switching valve should be selected in consideration of the amount of leakage of the workpiece.

When the workpiece conductance is known, the method of obtaining the leakage amount

Leakage QL=11.1×5×CL
QL: Leakage L/min(ANR)
CL: The gap between the workpiece and the suction cup or the conductance at the opening of the workpiece[dm³ /(S·bar)]

Method for obtaining leakage according to sorption experiment

●As shown in the figure below, the workpiece is sucked with a vacuum generator, a suction cup, and a vacuum gauge.
●The vacuum pressure P1 is read from the vacuum gauge, and the flow characteristic table of the vacuum generator is checked. The suction flow rate is the leakage amount of the workpiece.
Example: When the supply pressure is 0.45MPa, when the vacuum generator (VZU□S) sucks the leaked workpiece, the vacuum gauge
pressure is -53kPa, and the leakage of the workpiece is obtained.
(solution)
Check the flow characteristics of the VZU□S. The suction flow rate at -53 kPa vacuum is 5 L/min (ANR) (A→B→c).
Leakage ≒ Intake flow rate 5L/min (ANR)
